0156 Personality traits and chronicity of insomnia among soldiers

Abstract Introduction Within the behavioral model of insomnia, predisposing factors can increase vulnerability to developing problems sleep. One factor is personality characteristics and past research has identified associations between traits such as rumination/worry perfectionism with insomnia. Past studies have not considered chronicity insomnia its association characteristics. The goal this study was examine a wide range identify risk profile for chronic sleep disturbance. Methods Data were acquired from New Soldier Study(NSS) components Army Study Assess Risk Resilience in Service members(Army STARRS), which collected survey data soldiers newly recruited military(N=38,348; 20.9 (3.5) years old; 82.8% male). captures information regarding sleep, personal mental health symptoms.
